A percentage of an amount, what percent one number is of another, percentage change, and back to the original.

The working

  1. Percent means per hundred, so 18% of 250 = 250 × 18 ÷ 100.
  2. 250 × 18 = 4500.
  3. 4500 ÷ 100 = 45.
